A Checklist of Treasure Island Activities & Attractions
From iconic sunset spots to family-friendly adventures on the water, you won’t have any trouble finding ways to fill your days on a Treasure Island vacation. To help give you a jump start in creating your ideal itinerary, we’ve put together a list of our favorite activities and attractions.
- Relax on Treasure Island Beach. Compared to neighboring spots, this stretch of sandy shoreline is known for being wide and less crowded. You can even rent cabanas or paddleboards nearby.
- Found at the island’s southern end is Sunset Beach. Regarded as one of the most scenic spots in the area, it is a great place to end your day. There is a small boardwalk that winds through the dunes that’s ideal for evening strolls.
- If you’re looking to go shopping, make the short drive to John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk. The waterfront boardwalk is home to local shops, seafood restaurants, and waterfront bars.
- Secret tip: Our rental house in Treasure Island is only a mile from the boardwalk, and the scenic walk over the drawbridge can be an experience unto itself.
- The waters around Treasure Island are home to bottlenose dolphins, and one of the best ways to get an up-close look at them is on cruises with local charters and guides like Adventure Cruises.
- Explore the Treasure Island Beach Trail. Running along the beachfront, the path is the perfect place to go walking, biking, or jogging. We recommend hitting the trail in the early morning when temperatures are still cooler.
- Fish from the Treasure Island Causeway Bridge. The local fishing spot is an excellent place to cast your line for snook and redfish. It’s also an ideal place to see boats traveling between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf.
- Enjoy waterfront dining. Treasure Island is home to a number of beach bars and waterfront restaurants like Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach or Caddy’s Treasure Island, known for delicious food and stunning sunset views. Keep in mind: Caddy’s Treasure is still under a temporary setup post-hurricane.
