Always Perfect
Harbor Mist has become our paradise away from home! We've stayed here every year for over a decade and love everything about it. It's close to Clam Bayou, downtown Gulfport, St Petersburg museums, restaurants and fun shops and most importantly, a short drive to Fort DeSoto dog beach! The property has everything you could possibly need and is incredibly comfortable. The back yard is beautiful and has lighting and landscaping to make it a tropical paradise in the evenings. Best of all, it is pet friendly but you would never know this because it is so well maintained. Beth is super easy to work with and has awesome recommendations on her app of places to eat, things to do, etc. Looking forward to our Harbor Mist escape for years to come! Another perfect stay!
Benn coming to Gulfport and renting from Beth since 2006. Can't ask for a better home away from home. Harbor Mist is cozy, fully equipped with anything you could possibly need, and is always clean, fresh, and welcoming! The backyard is a private oasis- perfect for morning coffee or evening relaxation. Finally rented kayaks and explored Clam Bayou down the street- definitely will do it again! Lots of great restaurants and shops- Pia's is incredible! Harbor Mist has become our favorite vacation spot and our pups love it too. Thanks again for the perfect spot to recharge Beth!

Great Vacation
We have stayed in a number of Splashy Ventures properties and all have been great! Harbor Mist was clean and stocked with everything we needed.

The highlight of this property is the backyard. It is completely fenced, has a little fish pond, and has amazing vegetation. It almost felt like we were in the Keys. We'd definitely stay again.

Fall Vacation 2021
This was our first time at this house in the marina district. We usually try to stay closer to the main drag, Beach Bvld area. It took a little time to get adjusted to where everything was and which switch controlled what. Overall, we were very satisfied with the house. Clean and comfortable, the queen bed seemed like new. Some of the pictures of the interior of the house do not match what is actually there, but functionally equivalent. The landscaping and backyard are spectacular, an outdoor oasis. I would recommend this property.

Perfect as Always!
Harbor Mist is our favorite getaway place! Beth is super easy to work with, is very attentive to detail, and provides lots of info about both the rental and nearby things to do. We've been staying in her rentals for more than a decade and have never had an issue! Harbor Mist is cozy, has everything you could possibly need, and has an incredible backyard with lights and pond that make it the perfect spot for relaxing in the evening. Although pet friendly, you (and your pets) never find evidence of previous furry guests! Our pups love the yard and trips to Fort DeSoto dog beach along with strolls to the bayou down the street. Gulfport is full of awesome restaurants and shops and people are very friendly. Highly recommend Pia's for amazing food! Love Harbor Mist and even (easily) extended our stay by a day because we just weren't ready to leave paradise!

Very nice stay
We had a great stay at Splashy Ventures. We were a little too trusting of the area and left our bikes out front and one was stolen the first night we were there. It was our mistake not to lock them up but just beware to lock up your belongings. We felt safe staying there even after that happened and our host was in contact with us throughout the stay. The home is located on a quiet street and the backyard is a tropical oasis. We would definitely return!

Another perfect stay!
We have stayed at Harbor Mist numerous times over the past 13 years and have always loved it and Beth's other Gulfport properties. As always, the house was clean, well stocked with everything you could possibly need, and such a comfortable home away from home. My favorite is the backyard- private and lovely and so inviting! Gulfport is a wonderful and friendly little town- always enjoy Tuesday Fresh Market and monthly Art Walks. Harbor Mist is a quick walk from Clam Bayou with easy trails and awesome views. Our dogs love the bayou, Fort DeSoto dog beach, and all the pet friendly restaurant patios in Gulfport. Harbor Mist will always be our favorite getaway spot- and Beth is always easy to work with and makes sure her properties are clean, equipped, and perfect!

Awesome Place, Location and Host
We stayed at Harbor Mist with 5 people, even with that many people it was comfortable and cozy. We absolutely loved the backyard and used it extensively, it is so private and surrounded by tropical plants and shrubs. The living room was large enough that we could all fit and watch movies at night. The location was awesome, the marina is 2 blocks away and you can walk a little hiking trail located there, we rented kayaks and put in from there. We would walk a mile to fabulous restaurants and cafes, the Tuesday farmer's market, the Friday Art Walk. I would definitely recommend this home, escpecially for people who enjoy activities and the outdoors.

Home Away from Home
My husband and I (and our cat) spent a wonderful month at this property. It was perfect for us and had everything we needed. We took lots of walks in Clam Bayou and even kayaked it once. We played golf almost twice a week at several nearby courses. We also safely dined at most of the restaurants (most with outdoor seating) in the quaint town of Gulfport. And of course, we visited the nearby beaches for more walks many times as well. The only thing that would have made it better was if it had a pool. But truly even without a pool we'd definitely go back.

Perfect extended stay
Everything was as described and shown in the pictures. We were very comfortable living and working (online) during our stay. The kitchen provided every possible item we might need, with nice dishes and every accessory from pizza wheel to food processor, even a crock pot! The back yard was a paradise. Sunset at Clam Bayou was a short nightly walk away and the highlight of each day.

Long weekend in Gulfport
The house was perfect for our long weekend stay in Gulfport! During COVID, traveling can be scary but the house was very clean and had everything we needed so we didn't need to go out if we didn't want to. The backyard was great and we used the grill every night. We had our dog with us, and she loved it, especially the walking paths by the marina down the road. Great location!

We were initially unsure about staying in the Marina District, but we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the neighborhood was quiet, had direct access to the bike path and clam bayou, as well as an easy 20-30 minute walk to Beach Blvd. A two block walk to the marina offers spectacular sunset viewing! The Harbor Mist cottage is small but the layout is well designed and comfortable. The Kitchen is stocked with everything that we needed and has ample space for 2-3 cooks to prepare meals together. Beth, the property manager, and the Splashy Ventures team were very helpful and responsive to any questions or additional needs that we had during our stay. A 5 star rating overall with our only suggestion for the homeowner would be to update the bathroom where several items were worn or damaged.

Perfect vacation cottage!
We have been staying at Splashy Ventures properties for at least 11 years and can't say enough about how awesome Harbor Mist is and and how great it is to work with Beth! The house is perfect- anything and everything you need for a relaxing stay and a private backyard that is delightfully landscaped and has great lights so it can be enjoyed in the evening as well. Gulfport is a great little town with lots of fun restaurants (coconut chicken curry rice bowl at Tangelo's is awesome!) All of Beth's properties are well maintained and really relaxing. Added bonus- all are pet friendly (although you would never know it because cleaning is perfect). FortDeSoto is only 20 minutes away and has a great dog beach. Thanks for another perfect getaway Beth!

This was our 2nd trip to your lovely home and it was amazing. Your home is in a beautiful area in Gulfport. It is close to Fort Desoto State Park where we took our 2 dogs everyday to play in the ocean. The fenced in backyard was wonderful and perfect for the dogs. Great Home Away From Home
I enjoyed my stay at Harbor Mist, except for a brief hospital stay. Many friends in the Gulfport area stepped up and helped me recover quickly.
The house was very clean and Beth and Terry helped by installing a grab bar in the bathroom. They also answered my questions about operation of the TV and other items. The neighborhood was very quiet which I enjoyed. Actually the description of the house led me to assume it slept 5 (five) people, when in reality, it really only sleeps 4 (four.) There are no pullout couches in the living room.
The backyard/patio is lovely and a wonderful spot for reading or relaxing.

Nice house
The house was clean. We didn’t have a pet and were worried about pet hair but any signs of previous animals in the house were scarce. There we great options for beaches as well. It’s not on the water and the water that it is close to is a Bay Area that was only accessible to boats. You couldn’t swim there. The only complaint was the counter pond in the back was full of mosquitoes. We couldn’t even walk outside for a second without getting bitten. However, I would stay there again.

Thank you for the feedback. I don't think the pond is the culprit. Mosquitoes are a sad fact of life everywhere this time of year and this yard has a lot of plants. Most of the mosquitoes that get attracted to the pond get eaten by the tadpoles and frogs too. It is best to be prepared with bug repellant of your choosing. We do have regular mosquito spraying as well.

Another Perfect Getaway
This is our favorite vacation rental and we try to book it every summer! Delightful house with everything you could possible need and then some. Love the location- very quiet and a short walk to Clam Bayou and the marina to take in some great sunsets. Backyard is landscaped for beautifully with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the tropical setting. Propety is pet friendly (our pups love it here!) but you would never know because of awesome cleaning and upkeep! Beth is a joy to work with and we have enjoyed stayingbin her vacation properties for at least a decade. Harbor Mist is the perfect vacation home in Gulfport- a friendly, quirky, artsy town close to all sorts of beaches, museums, antique shops, and restaurznts!

A real gem
This was our second stay at harbor Mist: 1 month in 2017 and 2 months in 2018. However, we won't be back next year--because we enjoyed ourselves and loved the area so much that we purchased something similar 3 blocks away!

The house was perfect for us, a retired couple with two small dogs, and enough room for an occasional overnight guest or two. The property is very well maintained, fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and furniture, cozy but clean and adequate bathroom, and pleasant fenced yard with appropriate furniture (including dining table with umbrella and and chairs) and quality grill. (If you'll be there for an extended period of time and want to watch Netflix etc., bring an appropriate device: there's WiFi and a good TV, but it's not a smart one).

The location is ideal: quiet, friendly neighborhood just 3 blocks from marina and Clam Bayou (perfect for daily walks), just 1 mile from the waterfront eateries of Gulfport, and only 12 minutes to downtown St. Pete and all it has to offer. And Beth has been great to work with. A real gem!

Very nice hideaway
My wife and I were very satisfied staying in this cottage. It's well appointed, has a lovely private yard and well stocked kitchen. It's also only two blocks from the bayou and marina. Anyone over 6'4" beware of the beam in the living room! The bedrooms are small but have more than enough closet space and drawers. We'll be back.

Darling Cottage
Harbor Mist was a great choice for our two weeks in FL visiting friends and family. Everything we needed was in the house. The kitchen is well-equipped; towels, including beach towels, are plentiful; there are sand chairs and umbrellas in the storage room outside. Beds are comfortable, even with my bad back, and the bed linens are lovely.

The beaches are nearby: Pass a Grille, and the beaches north of there are easily accessible. Ft. de Soto is always a delight, a short drive.

Restaurants are plentiful, both in Gulfport and at the beaches. We enjoyed early morning shelling, and late afternoon beach time to avoid the worst heat, and be there for sunsets. We also were delighted with sunset-watching at Gulfport, where there are benches and adequate parking.

The house was perfect: near beaches and shopping, pleasant neighborhood for walking-- large marina at the end of the street. Recommend, for cozy, pleasant stay.

And here was her review on that site..."The Gulfport area is a great location away from the St Pete Beach congestion but still close enough to be at the beach in about 20 minutes. Gulfport has its own charm that is relaxing and entertaining with great restaurants, shops, bars, and the pier to look out in to the gulf. There are a few minor items that I informed the owner about so hopefully they will be resolved. The biggest issue that may or may not be resolved is that check out is at 10am so if you have a later flight out you spend the day at the airport with your luggage. Makes one leave on a not so happy feeling! I did know this going in so it wasn't a surprise. Lovely home in one of my favorite areas...."

All of the pillows and spreads were in a pile in the middle of the beds when we got there. We didn't find out till two days later that the sheets were in the drier. A totally special holiday
when we arrived on Friday, Jan 13th we were delighted to find the house clean and prepared for us. We were blown away by the back yard with the atmosphere of a garden surrounded by bushes and trees. We had come to see three new great-granddaughters. We planned to baptise them(I am an ordained mimister).We had all our family on sunday afternoon, with a catered lunch and the yard was perfect for this. Also the yard was ideal for relaxation. I am 84 years old and my wife is 83 so this was a bonus for us. We are totally satisfyed with our stay.

Charming house close to everything
The house was lovely! Very charming with everything you could need. We brought our bikes with baskets and it was perfect for riding down to the strip of bars and restaurants with our chihuahuas in tow. Security deposit was refunded very quickly as well. I would definitely book again!

Stayed here many times in the past and while driving down, I said "The only thing Harbor Mist needs,to be perfect, is a hammock!" We arrived, looked out at the deck, and there was a hammock!!! We picked this location because it was centrally located to the areas we wanted to spend time in. Gulfport is a very unique town, with lots to do. The restaurant recommendations were spot on. We enjoyed our time in the area and liked being able to come back later in the day and relax at the house. The house was very clean when we arrived. Gulfport bungalow home
We were pleasantly surprised with the little bungalow. It was nicely furnished, comfortable, clean, the kitchen was well furnished with everything you could use; we enjoyed the large screen tv (it lost signal a few times but came back on after a few minutes); the mattress in the master bedroom was very comfy; we enjoyed the keyless front door entry - didn't have to fuss with keys; the back yard was a little smaller than it looked on the photo but was still good for our dog; the backyard was very plushly landscaped with large palms, rubber trees, ferns, a little pond with plants and lots of other plants to look at; the grill was nicer than ours at home and we used it a few times. We were happy with the bungalow and would recommend it to friends or relatives.

Great rental in a great area.
This little bungalow was just perfect. Nice quiet neighborhood, close to great restaurants. We think Gulfport is just the best kept secret around. We have rented St. Pete Beach and nearby for three years in the past but Gulfport is the only place we want to be now. The home was spotless, no mold, more appliances than the average home, all new and the best brands, full size washer/dryer, great beds, nice furniture. Can't compliment Elizabeth enough. We will be back!

Harbor Mist is a wonderful cottage that has everything you could possibly need and then some. Beautiful landscaping and secluded backyard is perfect for relaxing with coffee in the morning. Interior is nicely decorated and very comfortable! Beth makes sure everything is perfect and is great to work with.... We have stayed in several of her properties for vacation over the past 8 years and she's always great to work with! Her places are dog friendly but the only way you know other pups have stayed is comments in the guestbook and it's only a 20 minute drive to Fort DeSoto dog beach! Delightful property with beautiful yard and landscaping. Decor was colorful yet serene. Freshly painted with comfortable beds and furnishings. Large kitchen and dining area with a nice selection of cookware, dishes and serving pieces. The only downside is there is only one bathroom, however the outside shower was a great option and was utilized by our group. Property was well maintained and the neighborhood was quiet. Just a few steps from the marina and nature trails too. We highly recommend and hope to stay there again ourselves.

Harbor Mist
We had a very enjoyable stay. The notebook containing instructions and brochures about local "things to do" was most helpful. The description of the property was accurate. It was very clean and well maintained. We would definitely recommend the Harbor Mist to a friend or relative. The local restaurants were all very good. Breakfast at Stella's was fantastic! We like to walk and they were within a comfortable walking distance of the cottage...yet we were far enough away from the bustle. We rented Kayaks from Kayak Nature Adventures, just down the street from the cottage. Explored Clam Bayou and had a great time!
We did have trouble finding the property management office for dropping off our check-in and check-out sheets. We went to the address and it looked like someone's vacation cottage. We did not see a "drop box". Also, per the instructions on the refrigerator, there was a "green tub" for paper recycling but there was not one of those at the property....just the blue tub for plastics.

Thank you Gail! And FYI we are no longer asking guests to take the sign-in sheet anywhere unless they find something amiss. Otherwise we recognize it is much easier to just leave it on the counter when you depart! Beth

It was the first time we experienced a vacation in a little house like that. We found that it was nice the way it's divided and a lot of space to do different kind of things.

Very nice place with great airco and internet. Plenty of space for the two of us.
Gulfport beach close by as several restaurants. Quiet neigbourhood.

When we arrived the house was spotless. The website is very accurate. There are more than enough kitchen gadgets, pots and pans, etc. Even stuff to bake should you be so inclined. Beth and her team were great to work with. Gulfport is like a mini Key West -- we loved it. Lots of great restaurants and a lovely little beach. We are coming back again....

Don't Hesitate
My husband and I spent three months at Harbor Mist during our transition from CT to FL. It was a perfect place to unwind from the pressures of selling our home and moving out--quiet, clean, well-appointed, and completely comfortable for the two of us, even given the long duration of our stay. The private backyard was a haven for us and for our two cats as well. We loved Gulfport's very casual, friendly atmosphere, and we especially enjoyed the easy walk to Beach Blvd. with its shops, restaurants, & outdoor markets. I loved the little Clam Bayou preserve at the end of Miriam St., too--it's right on the FL Great Birding trail. More dining & shopping are a short, convenient drive away, including the great Grand Central area of St. Pete. We came here on a whim...and we like it so much we're now shopping for a home.

Delightful get-away
My husband and I stayed here while visiting our son, who had recently moved to Gulfport. I have nothing but praise for this cute little cottage. It met our needs perfectly, was very clean, and the instructions/directions for everything were helpful. (The only negative is that I could not get the wireless internet to recognize the password. But I wasn't there to browse the internet anyway.)

Will Stay Again!
Lovely home, just small bedrooms that could use smaller or creative designed furniture and the cleaning that the "tenants" are responsible for was very evident, especially in the dishes. But overall, was a very pleasant stay and would stay again.

Willies stay at Harbor Mist
Harbor Mist was a very nice mid sized rental. Everything was in good working condition and well stocked with every that most people on vacation would need. The landscaping was very nice like a tropical oasis. The back yard has a large new gas grill and has lots of shade trees. House was located near many main roads and close to shopping and local attractions. We were very pleased with our stay and will rent Harbor Mist again if we stay in St. Petersburg.
